Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional government funding provided to schools to help improve the educational outcomes of disadvantaged pupils and to close the attainment gap between these pupils and their peers. At Moorbridge, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of background or circumstance, are supported to achieve their full potential. We use Pupil Premium funding strategically to remove barriers to learning, raise attainment and provide targeted support where it is needed most.

The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils who:
-
Are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), or have been eligible at any point in the last six years
-
Are in the care of the local authority or have previously been in care (Previously Looked After Children)
-
Are from service families
The funding is intended to support these pupils by improving academic outcomes and promoting wellbeing, attendance and engagement.

At Moorbridge, Pupil Premium funding is used to:
-
Identify and address barriers to learning
-
Provide targeted academic interventions
-
Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and mental health
-
Improve attendance and engagement
-
Enrich the curriculum and widen opportunities beyond the classroom
Decisions about how funding is spent are informed by careful assessment, ongoing monitoring and evidence-based research.

Examples of how Pupil Premium funding may be used include:
-
Additional teaching and learning support
-
Small group or one-to-one interventions
-
Pastoral and wellbeing support
-
Support with educational visits, clubs and enrichment activities
-
Resources and equipment to support learning
The impact of this support is regularly reviewed to ensure the funding is making a measurable difference.

The progress and attainment of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium is closely monitored by school leaders and governors. We evaluate the effectiveness of our strategies throughout the year and adapt our approach as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
