White Ribbon Campaign... 16 Days of Action
November 2024
The statistics on sexual harassment and assault among young people in the UK underscore the urgent need for cultural change. A 2021 survey revealed that 71% of women in the UK have experienced sexual harassment in public spaces, while Ofsted’s review highlighted troubling trends among younger age groups: 79% of girls and 38% of boys reported that sexual assault among peers occurs "a lot" or "sometimes." Addressing these issues requires more than individual action—it demands a collective shift in societal attitudes and behaviors to combat violence against women and girls effectively. Recognising this need, Moorbridge are in the process of becoming Ambassadors for the campaign and are committed to being a White Ribbon organisation, actively supporting the annual White Ribbon Day and the 16 Days of Action’ against domestic abuse campaign. These initiatives aim to raise awareness, promote gender equality, and inspire individuals and communities to challenge harmful norms and behaviors, contributing to a safer and more equitable society for all. As a school we continue to educate and model 'Healthy Relationships' with our pupils... join us in signing the White Ribbon Promise https://www.whiteribbon.org.uk/promise in supporting and raising awareness of such an important campaign.

Languages of the World
Deeper Learning Day
September 2024
KS3 had a wonderful day on Thursday 26th September celebrating European Day of Languages. KS3 pupils delved into the world of different languages and participated in a carousel of activities to support their thinking around different languages within Europe. To begin the day pupils completed nurture activities around European languages- including word searches in different languages! Pupils then went on to learn different languages and practice pronunciations, with a quick cross curricular test at the end where pupils placed the sayings from different countries on a map. Following a quick brain break, pupils then made different foods from around Europe, where pupils were encouraged to speak in different languages when asking for utensils and saying what they had made. Pupils then came back to the classroom for a wonderful mystery tour, where they had to use all their language knowledge from the day to find someone missing in Europe, where all the clues were in a different language. If that wasn't enough, pupils then learnt British Sign Language, which pupils engaged with very well. Well done KS3, you were amazing and we hope you had as fun of a day as we did!
Lana Simpson - GCSE Art
September 2024
Lana Simpson chose an exam question on entwined. In this question Lana had to present her interpretation of "entwined". Lana explored themes of Renaissance gardens and ivy being entwined, Lana also explored mermaids being entwined in the sea and chose deep greens to contrast with the reds of the mermaids hair. Her interpretation took styles of the human figures from Renaissance art mixed with flowing entwined hair and ideas generated from underwater pictures by artist Hieu. The final piece is stunning and is a real credit to Lanas hard work. Lana Simpson chose an exam question on entwined. In this question Lana had to present her interpretation of "entwined". Paul Hannaford Visit
June 2024
Paul's delivery offered students an insight into the real world of drugs, gangs and knife crime, a message that just can't be taught from a book. The assembly was hard-hitting, graphic, emotional and so much more. It provided students with the reality and consequences of drug abuse, and notably, helped break down the bravado we often receive through generic drug assemblies. The silence in the hall spoke volumes, "You could hear a pin drop". It stemmed conversation and drew attention to the issues around serious violence, understanding the root causes and educating youths. A must have assembly!
